President Uhuru Kenyatta, through Government Spokesman Eric Kiraithe, has announced that Jamhuri Day celebrations will take place as expected on December 12.
The State celebrations will, however, be tailored to fit the current political situation in the country even as the National Super Alliance (NASA) plans a separate event.
Unlike in 2016 when President Kenyatta presided over the event at Nyayo Stadium, 2017 festivities will be held at the Moi Stadium Kasarani.
Moreover, the fete will be conducted under a new theme aimed at fostering national unity.
